Full Disclosure

Reliable Power Meters has developed a state of the art approach to power monitoring that they call Full Disclosure. Full Disclosure provides all the information you need to troubleshoot any power problem. And Full Disclosure helps prevent power problems from bringing your operations to a halt. Let's explain:

Full Disclosure. What it is.

Full Disclosure is patented technology available only in the Power Recorder.

Full Disclosure provides unequaled:

  • Breadth of measurements
  • Depth of measurements

Breadth of measurements

Full Disclosure technology profiles and analyzes all aspects of power. The Power Recorder simultaneously operates in all domains to capture all power quality, harmonics and consumption parameters. There's no need to bring in additional instruments or conduct more surveys. No other single instrument can monitor such a broad range of measurements.

Depth of measurements

Full Disclosure technology allows the Power recorder to measure all aspects in detail. The on-board digital signal processor measures everything, on every cycle with 14-bit precision. That translates to an accuracy of better that 1%.
For power quality, the Power Recorder offers the ultimate in detailed event analysis. Voltage and current are recorded and displayed together with pre- and post-history information. Timebases are automatically selected for the best presentation. Select from three measurement options to choose the level of detail and type of display you need for impulse capture.

Full Disclosure

To fully understand power problems you need to correlate all aspects of power together. Thanks to Full Disclosure, the Power Recorder makes correlation and analysis easy. It gives you the data you need to:

  • Compare disturbance and consumption activity to associate events with the operation cycles of equipment on the distribution system.

  • Measure harmonic distortion and transients while verifying energy consumption of adjustable speed drives or other energy-saving technologies.

  • Check imbalances and demand, while monitoring flicker and voltage quality.

Full Disclosure. Why you need it.

By installing multiple Power Recorders at critical points around your distribution system you can begin a "predictive maintenance" program to give advance warning of incipient problems. Catching problems before the cause disruption means you can take action to prevent costly downtime.
The Power Recorder makes it easy to begin a predictive maintenance program. Establish a benchmark of initial conditions by conducting an initial power survey for a reasonable period of time, typically a week or a month. The Power Recorder collects, organizes, and archives all power survey data in a database. Then repeat the power survey for another week or month to create a second database. Each database contains information describing all power conditions at a particular location. By continuously monitoring and comparing subsequent databases you can highlight trends and deterioration. Increases in activity, amplitude of events, or the emergency of new types of events indicate changes in the health and integrity of your electrical infrastructure.

Predictive maintenance is possible only with Full Disclosure

Full Disclosure eliminates the "dead zone" found in older, capture- by- exception monitors that require manually programmed thresholds. If thresholds are set incorrectly it is impossible to capture all events and determine a true benchmark. An accurate benchmark gives you the information to spot trends or identify disruptive or damaging activity. The Power Recorder automatically captures all the necessary data without user-set-thresholds. It is the only monitor that establishes the correct benchmark and verifies the true power conditions at all times.
